Doug BowenDoug is a highly trained artist with nearly forty years of professional experience. A native of Detroit, Michigan, he entered the commercial art business at age twenty. Over the next thirty years, he worked for clients such as Ford, GM, Chrysler, Boeing, IBM, McDonalds, ABC, NBC, CBS, Disney, Turner Classic Movies, Fox, Sony, Etc.Facing a failing economy and rising production costs, Doug retired from commercial work and moved to St. Augustine. Over the last eight years he's devoted himself to his paintings and sculpture, exploring new techniques and subjects. For the first time in his career, Doug is finally doing what he wants, when he wants, and the way he wants.

Mary Bower
Mary BowerI learned Pine Needle Basketry from a Creek Indian woman named Myrtle McCoy in 1981 or 82 at an Antique Store/ Rare Book Store/Roller Rink. On Highway 90 in Marianna, Florida. I have found that making vessels that held other objects quiet satisfying, In fact, two of most useful details I know are pockets and handles. Being a stuff person I have to limit myself because I live on a houseboat. Portability and ecomomy are my guidelines. I can weave my baskets anywhere. If I run out of pine needles I look down the road I see many more Long Leaf Pine Trees. I also create baskets from rope. Some baskets I ornament with gemstones. The circle is the usual shape of my baskets. I find circles perfect in themselves. They make the basket better. I usually dont have a plan when I begin a basket- it just happens.

Kevin Dunn"Retro art with a Spin"......Old motel signs, retro bathing beauties, and an occasional palm tree define my work.Memories from past Florida vacations with my family comprise most of my inspiration. I rescue old windows and other paintablesurfaces from the trash heap and create work with a slightly twisted retro theme.

Stephen HeymannI am the original co-creator of Drift Magazine and a local graphic designer who has been involved in St. Augustine's progressive art and design scene for almost 5 years. My process stems from my experiences in the natural world. I have been largely inspired by my time spent volunteering and working in Florida State Parks. My work is an observation of subjects in their natural state juxtaposed in an abstract setting. This combination of imagery allows the viewer to stay visually anchored and still explore an abstract realm subconsciously.

LeaAnn LombariUpon returning to the fine arts after a career away I find myself wanting to create wearable art that will be an experience for the wearer and and when passed down appreciated by the generations to come.- Objects with clean lines..showing my attempts to unclutter my life- Materials of precious metals ...a reminder that we all have value and permanence...- Genuine gemstones..a reminder that we are connected to mother earth- Bold design... a dare to be true to ourselves- Design with a bit of whimsey with clean lines..a reminder not to take ourselves to seriously- Project collaboration... more than one idea opens the mind, the sum of the parts always more than the parts themselves

Kirsten MillerI grew up with my artist mother taking me to the best galleries in Chicago and that gave me continuous inspiration. I always loved to create but I have now found my voice in Outsider art. I find it compelling to take discarded items and give them new life. Fueled by a love of old horror movies and Rock & Roll, I create Assemblages that are both thought provoking and interesting. I love the funky and the weird in both My art and my jewelry.

Jerry PetersI was born in rural Northern Michigan, on a small family farm which instilled in me the beauty found in nature. My education as a Landscape Architect, is evident in my work as I draw from the love of nature and the world of my garden. Some of the ceramics I create integrate into the landscape and others seem to standout in contrast to nature while others are at home in a contemporary setting. I use a combination of commercial glazes along with glazes I have developed to achieve some very unique and interesting results. This combination of form, texture and color can be at home in your residence or can accent the landscape of your environment.

Dane JulianMusic, is the inspiration that enables me to just let go.Feeling the rhythm and beat creates a energy flow, that takes over and directs the paint to the canvas. If it's Rock n Roll, like AC/DC's Back in Black that I am listening to, results in fast strokes, lots of colors, in a high energy display.Classical or Jazz music, results in colors expressed as smooth overlays and easy calmness.Listening and feeling the energy flow of the music, gives me a creative outlet. Its my form of Poetry, instead of words, I use color and motion to express feeling.
